This setup fosters brainstorming, problem-solving, and trusted relationships and allows our employees to come together three days a week to collaborate, innovate and thrive!Under the guidance of senior technical staff, the Software Engineering Co-op will support the development and implementation of Technical Applications for the operation and planning of the Lightspeed network.Main ResponsibilitiesAssist in the configuration of a developer environmentAssist in the configuration of build and deployment toolsDevelop software for the planning, operation and capacity management of the Lightspeed LEO satellite networkWrite technical documentation, including software specifications and design documentationEducation and Experience Required3rd year Software, Electrical, Communications Engineering or Computer Science, from an accredited Canadian UniversityDemonstrated proficiency with an object-oriented programming languageInterpersonal skillsWritten and verbal skills in EnglishSpecialized Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesJava, PythonVisual Studio Code or some other Integrated Development EnvironmentUnit testsCloud-native applicationsEquipment UsedDeveloper-grade laptop with Windows and WSL2Environment: Visual Studio Code, Gitlab, JaCoCo, Sonarqube, KubernetesDecision Making and SupervisionEncouraged to take initiatives and recommend course of action to the Software Engineering team.No supervision exercised by this role.Working ConditionsThis role is a Hybrid position where the resource will be required on-site (standard office environment) 3 days per week.
