Reimagine What’s Possible *Relocation available for well qualified candidates The Low CI Hydrogen Business Director is expected to provide local commercial leadership across government relations, key stakeholder engagement, and overall project permitting and entitlement process activities. The Hydrogen Business Director will also provide input from a local commercial perspective into the business development process to support contract negotiations, project structuring, and financial modeling. This role will take the lead on identifying, developing proposals, and negotiating government funding agreements (working closely with government relations). Once executed, this role will retain ownership and administration of governmental support agreements with support from various functions as required. Commercial Readiness / Ownership Transition: This role will ensure the appropriate tools, processes, and procedures are developed to enable an orderly transition of the facility into the regional business management function. Once on-stream, the Hydrogen Business Director will assume all commercial-related responsibilities including the P&L, supply relationships, and overall asset management. The Low-CI Hydrogen Director will lead a team accountable for the day-to-day optimization of the facility operation to maximize revenues while also ensuring to meet all customer and government contract obligations. The ability to anticipate future needs of sectors looking to decarbonize through understanding and anticipating evolving carbon policies and provincial hydrogen strategy priorities is key to be successful in this role and be able to drive the identification, prioritization, engagement, and relationship building with prospective clients to profitably load this asset over the expected life span and deliver on the commitments made to shareholders.Job Requirements: The position requires an individual with extensive commercial experience, a strong technical background, and an overall understanding of large complex operations. The specific skills required include: 20+ years of business management or large facility operations management experience. Undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Business, Engineering. MBA preferred. Track record of identifying and successfully pursuing new opportunities, leading negotiations, writing proposals, structuring complex deals. In-depth knowledge of Canada’s regulatory & political landscape driving actions for decarbonization. Must have the ability to develop a solid understanding of the technical aspects of hydrogen feedstock sourcing, production, distribution and fueling in order to credibly communicate the advantages of hydrogen to key stakeholders. Experience leading and influencing diverse teams of technical, commercial, and financial professionals. Experience with any of; large capital project development, environmental permitting, and/or regulatory compliance activities including directly working with government agencies considered an asset. Excellent leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communications skills including the ability to use a variety of presentation platforms.
