THE ROLE AT A GLANCE
Are you a seasoned transportation professional with a knack for leadership and a passion for excellence? We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team. In this critical role, you will oversee and optimize our driver and dispatch operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and team morale. This role is located in Harley, ON (between Brantford and Woodstock).

DAY IN THE LIFE

  1. Driver and Dispatch Management: Oversee recruitment, termination, selection processes, disciplinary actions, pay approvals, and reviews; manage owner-operator rates and pay approvals.
  2. Health and Safety Oversight: Ensure the health and safety of all drivers across the company, including those in the redimix, install, and logistics divisions.
  3. Department Morale Maintenance: Foster a positive team environment through team-building events and activities.
  4. Daily Operations Management: Supervise daily dispatch and driver operations, ensuring smooth workflow.
  5. Issue Resolution: Address and resolve departmental issues; liaise with installation-related concerns.
  6. Opportunity Identification: Seek and evaluate new business opportunities for growth.
  7. Long-Term Planning: Develop and implement strategic long-term plans.
  8. Rate Setting and Invoice Approval: Establish various rates and approve invoices for third-party loads.
  9. Coordination with Mechanics: Collaborate with mechanics on repair needs and schedules.
  10. Equipment Review: Assess and provide input on equipment orders.
  11. Sales Responsibilities: Drive sales initiatives and strategies for the department
  12. Other duties as required.

WHAT MAKES YOU SHINE
Transportation industry experience
Energy, enthusiasm, and a professional demeanor
Ability to direct and coach employees
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
Proficiency in Excel, Windows, and Outlook
AZ license is an asset but not required
