We’re looking for a Logistics Freight Specialist (Ocean, Air, Truck) - 12 month Contract to join our growing company and play a key role in our customer experience by ensuring each purchase ends in a smile!Job DescriptionIn this role you will:Be responsible for driving technical and operational improvements across outbound, inbound and reverse logistics journeysWork with TMS for Ocean, Air, and Truck freightYou will act as a mentor and reliable team member within the growing department, providing direction and ensuring compliance on best practices, latest tools, trends and global/local market intelligence in both logistics and supply chainYou will also be required to take part in Logistical daily and weekly tasks and evaluate Key Performance Metrics (KPMs) to determine departmental successAnalyze all aspects of ongoing and new projects aligned to our operational efficiency strategiesPartner with logistical vendors to build strong relationships and identifying ways to improve our implementation processes to create high impact to the customer experienceIdeally you will be able to identify new carriers service solutions by evaluating their potential on cost and impact to our goal of supply chain process improvementsAssist in developing new solutions to distribution challenges affecting external/internal customers while managing multiple global and domestic carrier relations and meeting business objectives QualificationsThe Qualifications and Experience we like to see:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or a related fieldA minimum of 5 years international and domestic freight forwarding/3PL experience in a high volume, fast moving retail and/or e-commerce transportation domainExpert knowledge in Ocean, Air and Truck freight is requiredStrong knowledge Transportation Management Systems in both Ocean and Truck shipments is requiredStrong knowledge of Canadian Customs Brokerage Certification in CITT, P.Log., CIFFA, CCLP and/or Customs Brokerage License is a definite assetKnowledge of Jira, Agile Methodologies and working within a Scrum is a definite assetPrevious project management experience is essential to your successProficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) as well as Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft TeamsExceptional analytical skills and attention to detailStrong verbal, written and presentation skillsAbility to collaborate and build strong relationships with all departments and levels both internally and externallyAbility to manage conflicting priorities and competing deadlinesAdditional informationWhy members of our Corporate team love working at Sleep Country Canada/Dormez-vous?:This is not a job but a CAREER with opportunities for growth and advancementDiverse and inclusive work environmentWe will invest in you and provide extensive training, mentoring and continuous developmentAccess to training and development platformsRecognized as one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures in 2022 by Waterstone Human CapitalCommitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (EDI&B)At SCC/DV, we are committed to building a company culture of inclusion and diversity where differences are embraced and valued, this allows us to better understand and meet the needs of our customers and the communities we serve.
