Job Description: North America Battey Technology Centre (BTC) is currently seeking a Logistic Coordinator to join our team. This role requires adherence to corporation and lab safety processes and procedures, and close collaboration with the Facility team and BTC team. The Logistic Coordinator will manage the safe storage and logistical movement of test assets (Lithium-ion batteries) and will track lab instruments and tools. The Logistic Coordinator will manage test assets and lab material inbound and outbound shipment. This role will also support writing requisitions and tracking status. This position is essential for maintaining the efficiency of lab operations. Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Learn and follow corporate, facility and BTC safety processes and procedures. Learn and follow regulations and requirements regarding Lithium-ion battery shipment and storage. Learn and use corporate system and tools for logistics management. Oversee the receipt of BTC test assets, lab equipment, tools and consumables. Request and coordinate shipments; ensure all necessary paperwork is accurate, complete, and promptly provided to the shippers. Coordinate the logistical movement of all test assets (Lithium-ion batteries) in the lab, including tracking and storing the physical location and associated dunnage. Schedule and assist in inspecting test assets (Lithium-ion batteries) in storage. Create and maintain databases to track test asset locations and histories; ensure databases are updated in a timely manner. Manage and track test equipment and tools within BTC. Write purchase requisitions for lab tools, materials, and services as requested. Track the status of requisitions approvals, purchase orders and deliveries. Support other tasks assigned by lab management. Ensure all training requirements are up to date. Requirements: Familiarity with safety standards and protocols, particularly in a laboratory or manufacturing setting. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel. Proficiency in database management and documentation, such as Access. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Legal eligibility to work in Canada. Preferred Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering - but open to other fields of bachelor degree, as long as JD mentioned responsibilities are understood and qualified Five years or more of experience. Transportation of Dangerous Goods training. Experience with the Occupation Health and Safety Act (OSHA). Knowledge about Lithium-ion battery, storage, and shipment. Experience working in a unionized environment. Ability to travel to the USA to attend infrequent training/meetings. Education: High school diploma with three years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field in lieu of a bachelor's degree Additional Must Haves: Hazardous material logistic management and TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) experience, Lithium-ion battery handling. If not pre-obtained, willing to learn applicable requirements and knowledge and be qualified. Training will be provided. Great in using Excel spreadsheet and other database to manage logistics, material storage. Great in tracking items' status. Great in collaboration. Organized, attention to details.
