Library Technician or Director – Master’s College & Seminary – Mississauga, ON

Master’s College & Seminary (MCS) invites applications for a full-time Library Technician or Library Director (negotiable to 80% time, if the applicant desires). The individual is responsible for the day-to-day operations of MCS’s library which houses around 40,000 volumes and facilitates patron access to the online Digital Theological Library. As the main employee of the library, it is essential that the incumbent is self-motivated and disciplined to take initiative in continually improving resources and services provided by the library as well as participating in the success and collaborative work of MCS as a whole. The incumbent will work largely independently, though in periodic collaboration with the offsite Library Technician from Horizon College & Seminary (Saskatoon). If the individual has a MLIS degree and appropriate experience, the individual may serve as the Library Director. If hired as a Library Technician, then the individual will serve with guidance from a part-time and offsite Library Director. This is an on-campus appointment that will begin in August of 2024.

Established in 1939, MCS continues to prepare graduates to take their place with thousands of alumni who have served or are currently serving in vocational and lay ministry in Canada and around the world. In November 2023, MCS and Horizon College & Seminary signed a partnership letter of intent to share curriculum, resources, faculty, and staff cross-provincially in a lean and sustainable collaborative operating model. This summer, MCS is moving to a new campus in Mississauga while also establishing church-based learning hubs across Eastern Canada to prepare competent Christian leaders with the church, for the church.
