Job Description
Our team has an immediate permanent opening for a Legal Counsel.
Responsibilities:
- Provide efficient and knowledgeable legal support to the business;
- Drafting, review and negotiate various types of contracts, including but not limited to procurement agreements, leases, research and development agreements, services agreements;
- Advise internal business teams on legal issues, including but not limited to employment matters, corporate governance, intellectual property, compliance, risk management, etc.;
- Provide legal advice and support on litigation, settlement and dispute resolution;
- Keep track of legislative development, and maintain resources of external counsels.
What you'll bring to the team:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a recognized university;
- Member of the Quebec bar;
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a law firm and/ within an in-house legal department, specializing in general corporate and commercial law matters;
- Strong negotiations, drafting and communication skills;
- Bilingual in English and French, both verbally and in writing.
