Legal Counsel (In-House)HCMWorks is a diversity-certified, privately held company with a long history as a leader in providing external workforce and procurement solutions as a Managed Service Provider (MSP). We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Legal Counsel to join our growing team. What you will be accountable for:efficient and knowledgeable legal support to the business of HCMWorks and involving our most important clients, including but not limited to contract drafting and negotiation, legal support for the management team and legal support for the sales team.in the development, review, and negotiations of the company’s general terms, policies, procedures, programs, practices, and business strategies and ensuring compliance and conformity with standards set forth in applicable laws.reviewing and interpreting legal documentation, analyzing legal issues, and making recommendations on action to be taken in substantial legal matters.assigned or delegated special projects and tasks to completion in an efficient, economical manner in accordance with company goals and objectives and performing other tasks assigned/allocated by management of the company.As an ideal candidate, you will have:Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited Canadian university.in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.minimum of 7 to 10 years of professional legal experience in corporate, commercial, and contractual work gained from a major law firm or in-house legal department.drafting and negotiating corporate/commercial contracts.with the professional services industry is preferred.communication and legal writing skills to effectively convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels.to distinguish and analyze relevant facts and make sound and reasoned legal conclusions.to proactively assist internal clients and to work independently while keeping others informed.to handle a mixture of corporate, commercial, and contractual work.judgment and the ability to assess the practical implications of legal risk.to proactively identify legal and reputational risks and propose innovative business solutions.to prioritize and handle several matters and projects at once.capabilities would be beneficial but are not required.HCMWorks works to create an environment that fosters the development of conscientious people who are committed to integrity, honesty, openness, personal excellence, continual self-improvement, and mutual respect.
