Job Description

The Legal Counsel reports to the General Counsel - Global Commercial, Digital, Tech & Procurement (Shared Services), based in the headquarters in Paris Suburban Area (Issy les Moulineaux). He/she is in charge of assisting the legal affairs of the business activity of the Group Procurement Organization (GPO). Within a team of 8 lawyers, the Legal Counsel is responsible for advising on strategic orientations decided by the GPO, updating all contractual templates related thereto, in close coordination with other Procurement lawyers dispatched in regions/brand of the Accor group.

As a member of the Global Commercial and Shared Services legal team, this position addresses both Luxury & Lifestyle and Premium Midscale Eco divisions of the Accor group. The Legal Counsel is in charge of (i) enabling business and strategy of the GPO at Central level through legal analysis when necessary, (ii) enabling successfully complex and international contracts negotiation (iii) updating robust and compliant contractual templates, (iv) providing annual training to GPO teams as the case may be, (v) participating to the elaboration and implementation of legal operations processes in general and digitalization related thereto, as the case may be. The Legal Counsel must have a strong experience at handling transactional international matters including drafting, mitigating and negotiating large scale contracts, structuring business models and strategic business partnerships.

Under the supervision of the General Counsel - Global Commercial & Shared Services, the Legal Counsel shall:

  • Advise the GPO teams and Global Category Procurement teams on the annual strategy and roadmap
  • Support and enable complex international contractual negotiations
  • Prevent, navigate and resolve complex legal issues, linked to strategic business models (with the help of external counsels as the case may be).
  • Actively monitor regulatory evolution and best practices relevant to the Group including making proposals in order to ensure that any regulatory changes are anticipated and managed.
  • Provide regular training to the business teams, when necessary, on such new legal or regulatory developments.
  • Liaise with the legal procurement stakeholders across the Accor Legal community to enable proper roll-out of global dealings negotiated centrally.

Any other task which may be deemed fit to protect the reputation and assets of the Group.


Qualifications

Experience :

  • Master law degree in Contract, Distribution, competition and/or Economic Law as well as International Business Law,
  • 6-8+ years of previous experience in-house or in private practice
  • Experience in international business law, competition & general commercial laws as well as in pre-litigation & contractual negotiation
  • Previous FMCG experience would be appreciated
  • Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders in an international and multicultural environment
