Your new role

As an Insurance Defence Legal Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting two seasoned lawyers. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including managing accident benefits cases, organizing legal documents, and maintaining communication with clients. You’ll be an integral part of the legal team, contributing to the success of complex litigation matters.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting lawyers in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, and correspondence
  • Coordinating court filings and maintaining court calendars
  • Conducting legal research and summarizing findings
  • Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders
  • Managing confidential information with discretion and professionalism


What you'll need to succeed

To excel in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in insurance defence, with a specific focus on accident benefits
  • Proficiency in legal software and tools (e.g., document management systems, e-filing platforms)
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
