Job Title: Lead Structural Engineer
Job Description
As a Lead Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for executing work and leading a small team of engineers, EITs, and designers. Reporting to the Discipline Department Head, you will support assigned projects and work closely with Project Managers to deliver for customers. Your role includes training, mentoring, and coaching junior team members, reviewing and stamping drawings, and maintaining communication with Project Managers on progress. You will perform structural designs and calculations for various structures, forecast labor resources, monitor project progress, and ensure technical accuracy in all project documents.
Hard Skills
This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Surrey, British Columbia and some days remote.
Work Environment
On-site work in Surrey Office, with hybrid work options available. Working hours are from 7:30 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, with a half-day every Friday. The team enjoys a business casual environment with sports teams, corporate events, and extensive training and mentorship programs.

Job Description

Hard Skills
- 10-20 years of experience as a Structural Engineer
- Structural engineering design, including seismic design of steel structures, concrete shallow and deep foundations
- Proficiency in Structural Analysis software such as Staad.Pro, Revit, PROKON Structural Analysis and Design, and SketchUp
- Experience with dynamic analysis for vibrating equipment
- Ability to prepare material cost estimates and take-offs
- Familiarity with engineering codes and standards, including Canadian Building and Design Codes
- P.Eng designation
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use judgment in pressure situations
- Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy
- Good problem-solving skills
