Senior Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management support for the engineering of a pioneering industrial facility, collaborating with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction partners to deliver the Feasibility Study and detailed engineering for the project.
  • Conduct optimization studies throughout the FS and detailed engineering phases, presenting and communicating recommendations to management.
  • Lead the project management of detailed design and construction of assigned plant units post-feasibility studies completion.
  • Support the preparation and reporting of grant applications to secure necessary funding.
  • Lead, manage, and steward corporate and project risk register, including organizing risk workshops, documentation, and reporting.
  • Fulfill other responsibilities as applicable from time to time.
The successful candidate has:
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial project management, with exposure to large-scale projects in various sectors.
  • Experience in managing projects exceeding $200 million in value.
  • Experience in the automotive, battery or pharmaceutical industry will be highly favored (this is not an oil and gas company)
  • Proficiency in both Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed design stages of projects, with experience in HAZOP analyses and materials selection.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Comprehensive assessments of project-related decisions, considering schedule, economic, constructability, maintainability, and operability impacts.
  • Knowledge of Western Canada's infrastructure and logistics is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Alberta infrastructure and logistics is required.
  • P.Eng. in Alberta is required.
