Job Description
Role Description: Arcadis is seeking an experienced legal counsel to join its in-house legal team and support the Architecture&Urbanism division. The ideal candidate will have legal experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, with excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. This role involves providing comprehensive legal services, managing complex projects, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support for complex projects across public and private markets
- Collaborate with disputes counsel and risk management team
- Serve as a trusted legal advisor to the Architecture&Urbanism Legal Director
- Ensure compliance with Arcadis policies and laws
- Monitor legal and contracting trends in the AEC industry
- Develop protocols for identifying and managing project risks
- Coordinate efforts of outside counsel as needed
- Support development of policies and processes
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Privacy department
- Develop role-related training programs
- Perform other duties requiring legal advice as needed

Qualifications&Experience:
- J.D. or LL.B. with at least four years’ post-qualification experience
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Experience negotiating and drafting complex agreements in the AEC industry preferred
- Aptitude for identifying and managing risk
- Collaborative and effective communication skills
- Knowledge of Canadian contracting laws preferred
