Role Description: Arcadis is seeking an experienced legal counsel to join its in-house legal team and support the Architecture&Urbanism division. The ideal candidate will have legal experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, with excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. This role involves providing comprehensive legal services, managing complex projects, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Provide legal support for complex projects across public and private marketsCollaborate with disputes counsel and risk management teamServe as a trusted legal advisor to the Architecture&Urbanism Legal DirectorEnsure compliance with Arcadis policies and lawsMonitor legal and contracting trends in the AEC industryDevelop protocols for identifying and managing project risksCoordinate efforts of outside counsel as neededSupport development of policies and processesCollaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Privacy departmentDevelop role-related training programsPerform other duties requiring legal advice as neededKey Attributes:Ability to work independently and collaborativelyExceptional organizational and time management skillsClient-focused, entrepreneurial, and pragmaticMotivated to learn and adaptableGlobal and international mindsetQualifications&Experience:J.D. or LL.B. with at least four years’ post-qualification experienceMember in good standing with the Law Society of OntarioExperience negotiating and drafting complex agreements in the AEC industry preferredAptitude for identifying and managing riskCollaborative and effective communication skillsKnowledge of Canadian contracting laws preferredWhy Arcadis: Arcadis believes in empowering employees to be their best and values diversity and inclusion.
