What you’ll do: Reporting to the Category Manager, the Lead Beer & Cider Buyer is responsible for developing and supporting Angry Otter Liquor's procurement practices and procedures, as well as the sourcing and monitoring of vendor performance for all Angry Otter Liquor locations within the procurement category. This role is an integral part of the Director's leadership team, working closely with other Buyers and Category Manager to develop and execute on building programming, sourcing strategies and programs that are consistent with Angry Otter. Meet with Preferred Vendors and sourcing of unique products Make strategic recommendations on sourcing at an organizational level Work collaboratively with all Buyers and the Category Manager to build programming, flyer activation, LTO activity and Wine Locker Program expansion Inventory management is crucial to ensure turns meet Company expectations Support with store planograms and pricing (CASM) for the Beer & Cidersections for all Angry Otter locations Ensure the store’s merchandising standards are being managed and maintained and all programs are being implemented,measured,and managed Directly responsible to ensure the stores adheres to BCLDB operating guidelines and all government regulations in labeling, pricing,sanitation,and food safety Attend and actively participate in commodity,leadership,and safety meetings Provide leadership in the areas of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence Perform other duties as assigned Why it matters: Our team provides a range of products and services to support our member-owners. Who you are: You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations Management and: Work experience in leading and managing people is an asset Work experience experience in the liquor industryas a store manager or in a Buyer capacity an asset Proven ability to create and maintain positive relationships with vendors, team members at all levels Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,and the ability to manage computer files efficiently Effective interpersonal, leadership and communications skills,motivation,and ability to work in a busy environment Effective planning,organization,and time management skills Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills Enjoy working with the public Must be available 7 days a week to work including early mornings,afternoonsand late evenings Preference will be given to those with liquor industry experience This position can be based out of the Fraser Valley, Greater Vancouver or the Okanagan, BC.
