Job Overview:
The Lead 2D Game Artist will play a crucial role in producing high-quality art for multiple games at various stages of development. This position involves creating engaging and visually appealing game assets, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and eventually leading a team of artists. Initially, the focus will be on hands-on production work, with leadership responsibilities growing over time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality 2D art assets for various games, heavily focusing on UI elements and other game assets.
- Collaborate with game designers, developers, and other artists to ensure cohesive and visually appealing game aesthetics.
- Maintain a consistent art style across different projects while adhering to brand guidelines.
- Provide feedback and guidance to other artists to maintain high standards of art production.
- Manage art assets and ensure they are optimized for performance and usability.
- Stay current with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve art quality and efficiency.
- Prepare and present art concepts and progress updates to senior leadership.
- Over time, build and lead a team of 2D artists, providing mentorship and fostering a creative and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a 2D artist in the gaming industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Expertise in creating game assets using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Strong understanding of color theory, composition, and visual storytelling.
- Experience with animation and UI design for mobile games is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Leadership potential with the desire to mentor and grow a team of artists.
- Nice to have: Bachelor's degree in Art, Graphic Design, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
