In this role, you will manage an individual file load and prepare documents for court. More specifically, your duties will include:Prepare files for legal actions (i.e., plaintiff’s claims)Manage and work an active legal queueDraft small claims court documents (i.e., affidavits, default judgments, garnishments, liens, motions, terms of settlements, letters, etc.)Assist Paralegal with preparation for court hearings where applicableMeet all legal action process deadlinesWork closely with various agents and court officesProvide updates of file statusWhat you will bring:If you pay attention to detail and have excellent organizational skills, we’d like to meet you!Other qualifications include:Law Clerk Diploma or Paralegal Program graduateUnderstanding of the Ontario Small Claims process and/or creditor’s rightsProficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)Strong communication skills and attention to detailAbility to multi-task and meet deadlinesPrevious experience in collections and/or small claims court procedure is preferredPrevious experience in a law firm or legal department is preferredFamiliarity with online filing procedures for small claims court (Service Ontario and Justice Services Online) is preferredBilingual (French/English) is considered an assetPass criminal background checkWhat sets us apart:PRA Group Canada values its employees and offers innovative programs that promote teamwork, positive morale, and employee recognition.
