Senior Land Development Director

The primary function of the Senior Land Development Manager is to guide projects from initial consideration, through the planning and development stages, concluding with final assumption.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in a Land Development environment, with a strong understanding of the residential land development process.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or equivalent is an asset
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the land development process within the defined aims of the organization;
- Provide Development guidance on land acquisitions.
- Preparation of concept plans for subdivisions and site plans;
- Preparation and submission of Land Development approval applications, including Official Plan Amendment, Zoning Amendment, Draft Plan of Subdivision, Site Plan, Committee of Adjustment, and Plan of Condominium;
- Obtain clearances related to approvals for registration, maintenance, and assumption;
- Prepare, manage and report on project budgets;
- Manage the co-ordination of project consultants and contractors to ensure projects are completed on schedule and on budget;
- Conduct site visits as required;
- Maintain positive relationships with consultants, contractors and key stakeholders to ensure project success;
- Manage all project administrative tasks and maintain an integrated filing system;
- Performs additional assignments and responsibilities as required;
- Duties may change from time to time at the discretion of the Departmant head and organization
Skills:
- Proven experience in residential land development, particularly low rise projects
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
- In-depth knowledge of Ontario's planning and development regulations
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial management
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency in Auto-Cad is an asset;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is a requirement;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a requirement;
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate a collaborative attitude in working with members of the team.
