Job Description

Senior Land Development Director

.

The primary function of the Senior Land Development Manager is to guide projects from initial consideration, through the planning and development stages, concluding with final assumption.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a Land Development environment, with a strong understanding of the residential land development process.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or equivalent is an asset

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the land development process within the defined aims of the organization;
  • Provide Development guidance on land acquisitions.
  • Preparation of concept plans for subdivisions and site plans;
  • Preparation and submission of Land Development approval applications, including Official Plan Amendment, Zoning Amendment, Draft Plan of Subdivision, Site Plan, Committee of Adjustment, and Plan of Condominium;
  • Obtain clearances related to approvals for registration, maintenance, and assumption;
  • Prepare, manage and report on project budgets;
  • Manage the co-ordination of project consultants and contractors to ensure projects are completed on schedule and on budget;
  • Conduct site visits as required;
  • Maintain positive relationships with consultants, contractors and key stakeholders to ensure project success;
  • Manage all project administrative tasks and maintain an integrated filing system;
  • Performs additional assignments and responsibilities as required;
  • Duties may change from time to time at the discretion of the Departmant head and organization

Skills:

  • Proven experience in residential land development, particularly low rise projects
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
  • In-depth knowledge of Ontario's planning and development regulations
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial management
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Proficiency in Auto-Cad is an asset;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is a requirement;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a requirement;
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate a collaborative attitude in working with members of the team.
