Were seeking a full-time Production Engineer for our Coleville, SK field office. This role will be work with our Saskatchewan Heavy Asset Team and reporting directly to the Director, Heavy Oil.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily production monitoring to ensure base production forecasts are being met.
  • Review down wells and work with the well servicing team to program, schedule and execute well servicing jobs.
  • Forecast and manage the yearly well servicing budget.
  • Monitor production testing compliance, test accuracy, well production profiles and ensure the appropriate type curves are met, on a monthly basis, in accordance with the Exploitation Department’s guidelines.
  • Support and assist Operations Team with achieving production and operating expense yearly targets, by implementing methods to reduce downtime, minimize workovers, participate in chemical program reviews, and provide ongoing technical support to any operational challenge.
  • Evaluate new technologies and innovations, collaborating with the Data Science/Innovation group in Calgary.
  • Provide Superintendent and Foreman with detailed production data and observations, conducting monthly well reviews.
  • Work with the area operations team to optimize wells.
    Assess shut-in wells for potential reactivation or abandonment.
    Collaborate with the Calgary asset team to support capital projects.
  • Direct supervision of pump changes and minor workovers as time allows.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma from a Technologist program coupled with prior experience in field operations would be considered.
  • Completion of post-secondary education with a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
  • Possession of a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of oil and gas field operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and maintain a positive team-oriented approach.
  • Proven track record of making sound decisions, effective prioritization, and excellent organizational skills.
