ABOUT THE JOB:
The Finance Department of Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS), is a global organization with local presence, providing the same set of services through global and efficient processes and consistent norms, leveraging on production hubs.
Our Core Missions are:
- Quality and timeliness of GBIS financial statements
- Assisting GBIS management and all Business Lines in their steering with actionable reports on financial performance and forecasts
- Independent certification of all financial aggregates in particular the daily P&L explanation on Market Activities
- Financial communication and constant benchmarking
- Providing expertise on accounting, prudential and tax norms and ensuring the compliance of these norms
The FP&A group for Global Market Activities (DFIN/MAR/MPA) provides Performance Management reporting, analysis and second level of control on NBI, Balance Sheet, Costs, Headcount, Budget and a variety of ratios.
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Junior FP&A Analyst with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience to support our team. In this role, you will be responsible for closely monitoring and analyzing the daily P&L of Market Activities, providing insights on RWA consumptions and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in maintaining the bank's financial stability and growth trajectory.
What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?
- Daily P&L explanation of Market Activities:
- Consolidate and communicate the daily results to senior management.
- Liase with different stakeholders (Product control teams, IT teams, etc.) to fully understand the underlying business drivers and issues that may affect each desk.
- RWA Monitoring and Analysis:
- Track and analyze RWA variances against budgets and forecasts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather RWA-related data and ensure accuracy.
- Understand regulatory trends impacting RWA production, and ensure proper knowledge sharing with senior management.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of regular financial reports, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Contribute to the creation of insightful presentations for senior management and other stakeholders.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Work closely with department heads to gather inputs and assumptions for financial projections.
- Data Integrity and Analysis:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial data in relevant systems.
- Conduct thorough data analysis to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities.
- Ad hoc Analysis:
- Undertake ad hoc financial analysis projects to provide insights into specific business decisions.
- Collaborate with the FP&A team to develop financial models for scenario planning.
- Process Improvement:
- Participate in the enhancement of FP&A processes and tools to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Suggest and implement improvements to reporting formats and data collection methods.
Profile required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience Needed:
5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Detail-oriented and analytical mindset, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of banking industry regulations and financial reporting standards is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis using Excel and other relevant tools.
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of BI tools a plus (PowerBI, Tableau).
- Experience with financial systems and software is advantageous (Essbase and Cognos).
Education
Bachelor's Degree (Business, Finance or Economics preferred)
LANGUAGE:
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
