Job Summary

IPEX is currently looking to fill a position of Intern - Junior Financial Analyst - Controllership. Reporting to the Assistant Corporate Controller. This person will support the Assistant Corporate Controller on accounting policy at IPEX North America (NA) and all of its related legal entities to ensure that financial accounting practices consistently and coherently adhere to the latest International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), as well as, any regulatory reporting requirements. The incumbent will also support the Assistant Corporate Controller on all written documentation regularly provide support analyzing the various financial statements and accompanying notes to financial statements for the above.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of risk and insurance documentation (excel spreadsheets) that is needed to renew our 2024 policies.
  • Help complete proper documentation of IPEX NA accounting policy.
  • Help with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to provide financial information and analysis
  • Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives within the accounting and finance functions


Qualifications & Experience

Education & Certificates
  • Completed or currently enrolled in an accounting program and registered in a COOP program at a recognized post-secondary institution pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, CPA and/or MBA or related field
  • Dynamic, curious and innovative thinker with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • SQL (nice to have) - to connect to Datawarehouse


Key Relationships:
  • Frequent communication with internal customers (Finance-IT-HR-Engineering)
  • Collaborate with peers on a regular basis.
