About the Role:

Reporting to the Manager, ITS Project Delivery Office, The Project Consultant II is responsible to lead and manage more complex projects from design and implementation through to evaluation and close-out; educate, mentor and support the hospitals departments/programs in project delivery principles and practices; establish and cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels in order to support the delivery of key strategic priorities; and to promote and implement change management and innovation to support the delivery of key project priorities.

The role is responsible for providing coaching and guidance to team members about every aspect of the project so that team members can understand their tasks fully and act on them efficiently.

The incumbent will identify all internal and external resources required to complete projects successfully. They are to collaborate with senior leaders to develop sound business cases for strategic priorities and initiatives, including cost and benefit analysis. Where required, they will support leaders in presenting to Senior Management for approval.

As the ideal candidate, you have:

  • Undergraduate Degree (Honours) in Health/Business Administration or Technology relevant discipline, or as acceptable by the hospital
  • Masters Degree in Health/Business Administration or Technology related discipline preferred
  • Certification from the Project Management Institute preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Process Redesign (Yellow/Green Belt) preferred
  • Minimum six (6) years previous related project management experience including multi-site projects
  • Demonstrated skills in financial management and change management
  • Advanced skills in negotiation, risk management and project management
  • Demonstrated facilitation skills including consensus building
  • Advanced problem solving, decision-making, planning and evaluation skills
  • Advanced resource planning and performance measurement
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple and competing priorities on a daily basis
  • Thorough knowledge of local and regional health care systems
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated excellence in quantitative and qualitative analysis and evaluation and project leadership
  • Demonstrated process improvement and business design experience
  • Proficient working knowledge of industry best practices, benchmarks, and measurement/ evaluation methodologies
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s vision, purpose and values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
