Job Description

The Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is a joint venture owned by three Prairie centrals created to digitally transform and modernize payment services for credit unions in the Prairies. PPJV’s goal is to ensure prairie credit unions are competitive in payments and have access to efficient, modernized payments processing infrastructure.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Information Technology project manager oversees project teams to ensure IT projects are completed on time and on budget. They are responsible for following software development life cycle. The IT project manager will work within the Project Management Office (PMO), and direct and coordinate the utilization of resources across projects to reach targets. The IT project manager will ensure compliance with budget and other project requirements. The IT PM will ensure documentation of instructions for end-users and assist with the testing of the final product. They will communicate with stakeholders during all phases of the project, and close it efficiently.

This role should deliver an extensively recorded, tested, intact, and operative product within delivery time frames and budget. Ideal candidates will be analytical and have a positive demeanor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning and execution of projects on time and on budget
  • Following PMO methodologies including creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation
  • Ensuring project complies with best practices, SOPs, PMO policies, and other policies
  • Outlining, defining, and initiating the project
  • Liaising with stakeholders such as project personnel, vendors, and end-users regarding project requirements and ensuring cross functional team delivery
  • Maintaining a good working knowledge of assigned payments projects
  • Monitoring project progress and implementing changes where necessary
  • Monitoring expenditures in accordance with the budget
  • Ensuring compliance with objectives, organizational policies, procedures, and standards
  • Compiling project reports and informing management regarding problems
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders across product management, technology and operations
  • Manage and mitigate risks and issues
  • Provide status reporting at various levels of the organization
  • Communicate project details clearly to the team
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plans to track progress
  • Other duties as required

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science, engineering for technical project managers, project management or business administration
  • 5-7 years experience working as a project manager
  • PMP or scrum master certification an asset
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence tools
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience in financial services and technology
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
