The Team

Pason’s IT function provides a full range of network, cyber security, infrastructure and application support to our internal (office and remote) and external customers located worldwide. Our efforts ensure highly available applications and infrastructure, allowing our employees and customers to operate efficiently, effectively and securely. Just a few of the operating systems, infrastructure, and applications that we support include Windows, Linux, Office 365, VMware, NetApp, Cisco, Apple iOS, Android, and others. We also provision and maintain customer utilized network infrastructure consisting of VSAT terminals, Starlink, and leading-edge cellular data technologies.

The Role

Pason is seeking a Director, IT to lead Pason’s Information Technology teams including desktop and application support, internal networking, external rig communications, and cyber security. This exciting new role will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to the IT teams to align with Pason’s overall goals and objectives. The Director, IT will ensure Pason’s IT functions provides internal and external customers with a best-in-class user experience. This role will encourage an environment of growth and innovation to empower a high performing team along with supporting a newly acquired rapidly growing company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute overall IT strategy and ensure alignment with Pason’s strategic goals
  • Provide leadership and direction to the IT, networking and cyber security professionals and managers, fostering a collaborative environment focused on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across Pason departments to understand IT needs internally and externally and deliver solutions that support business objectives
  • Lead IT governance processes, including project prioritization, risk management, and performance monitoring, to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives
  • Oversee IT and cyber security risk evaluations, audits (including SOC) and security incident investigations
  • Design and maintain IT and cyber security budgets ensuring cost-effective solutions
  • Continuously improve and deliver highly reliable systems and services including plans to address disaster recovery and business continuity concerns
  • Maintain awareness around industry developments and best practices, continuously enhancing expertise and capabilities
  • Encourages an environment of teamwork, openness, passion, initiative and curiosity between the various Pason stakeholders (e.g., R&D, Product Line Management, Business Units, etc.)
  • Ongoing reporting to Pason’s executive team on relevant IT risks, trends and analysis
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong functional and technical leadership skills that create team confidence and mutual respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner
  • Proven ability to lead operational support teams in the design, implementation, and support of critical systems
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
  • Enterprise wide thinker with experience in merger integration of networks
  • Experience providing strategic direction to an information technology team in a product and service environment
  • Skilled in problem-solving and analysis, change management, time management, and technology implementations
  • Experience with risk management at the executive level
  • Demonstrated ability to provide coaching, mentoring and leadership that effectively motivates and enhances team capabilities and skills
  • Proven ability to manage in a complex and diverse product environment
  • Conduct research in technical areas and recommend solutions that meet business needs
  • A bias for action - the ability to not only plan and delegate, but to lead and take the initiative to ensure that actions and projects are on track
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to an executive leadership audience
Qualifications

Experience
  • 8+ years of experience managing an Information Technology team of professionals
  • Experience integrating IT and cyber security teams would be an asset
  • CISSP, CISM, GIAC or other relevant certifications
Education
  • Bachelors or Master’s in Information Technology or equivalent
