POSITION DESCRIPTIOn

The IT Cloud Architect role is focused on defining and documenting the cloud enterprise and solution architecture for the St. Lawrence College IT Cloud and linking it to the St. Lawrence College cloud strategy, cloud risks, threats, vulnerabilities, events, incidents and controls. An expert level knowledge and depth of experience in the field of architecture for cloud is required. Expert level knowledge of cloud service provides and leading cloud practices is essential. Strong understanding of project management methodology is required to manage cloud projects and to develop the cloud project plans. This position is responsible for providing leadership in the area of cloud architecture and cloud strategy mapping. This position is responsible for verifying that St. Lawrence College IT Cloud Services and IT Cloud Services operations are in compliance with the St. Lawrence College cloud architecture, framework, policies, standards, procedures, and controls. As a subject matter expert for cloud, the position is responsible for continuous learning, knowledge sharing and collaboration within the St. Lawrence College community and the broader public sector IT community.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A minimum of a 3-year diploma/degree in a relevant field of study.

A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in cloud cybersecurity architecture, providing leadership in managing projects, gathering requirements, developing, and analyzing solutions.

Required certifications:

Cybersecurity and Information Security:

  • (ISC)2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
  • (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Cloud:

  • (ISC)2 Certified Cloud Security Professional (CSSP)
  • Microsoft Security, Compliance, Identity Fundamentals
  • TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Practitioner

Project Management:

  • PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)

The successful incumbent will have the ability to choose an in-person (tri-campus), hybrid, or fully remote (within Ontario) work location. 

Salary & Terms

  • Admin Group: Pay Band 10: $83,443 to $104,303 per annum, commensurate on education and experience. In addition to the salary, the position is eligible for pay for performance.
