Job Description

Overall ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Senior Director, Communications and Corporate Affairs, the Internal Corporate Communications Manager will be responsible for leading the development and execution of Jamieson’s internal communications strategy across multiple internal channels. They will be the Business Partner of our Canada BU and enabling functions (HR, IT, Health & Safety, etc.), planning and executing programs in support of their key strategic objectives. We are looking for a proficient communicator able to contribute to the overall communications strategy and work with our External Communications Manager and cross-functionally on the development of the materials required to bring it to life across our internal channels, and support on external channels when required. We’re based in downtown Toronto; but you’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work environment including 3 days per week on-site while other days will be remote. Strategically, you can guide a communications project to a successful outcome by asking the right questions to uncover and address a need, objective or roadblock. You’re accountable – Sometimes you need to do a little digging to get things done. You own your areas of responsibility and follow up to ensure you get results. If something should be done or could be better, you take it upon yourself to make it so. Specific Key Responsibilities & DutiesWork with the Senior Director, Communications and Corporate Affairs to implement an integrated internal communications plan to support Jamieson Wellness’ corporate objectivesBusiness partner for our Canada BU and enabling functions such as HR and IT, guiding and facilitating effective internal communication of their strategic projectsSupport our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in the communication of internal events and programsOwn the strategy and content planning for Jamieson’s internal communications channels including weekly newsletter, intranet, and social hub (Viva Engage)Manage translation of internal communications into French, Spanish and Mandarin as needed Work collaboratively with key cross functional stakeholders to deliver communications plans and content for high-priority corporate strategic projectsLead the development and execution of corporate communications events, including town halls and bi-monthly virtual meetingsWrite communications for internal audiences including organizational announcements, presentations, social media posts, speeches and scriptsIdentify and leverage (as appropriate), new communications channels and tools to support overall communications objectivesKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements Degree or diploma in communications, journalism or related field8 years of progressive experience in a communications roleExcellence in writing, editing and proofreading a variety of materials for both internal and external stakeholders (executive memos, internal announcements, newsletter and social media content)Outstanding skills in drafting communication plans and supporting documentation such as key messages and Q&AsProficiency in strategic planning, project management, and executionExperience creating content calendars; planning, writing posts and managing internal social media communities (Jamieson uses Viva Engage)Strong comfort level working with senior leaders in a fast-paced environmentAbility to analyze and articulate complex situations and issuesExcellent judgement and ability to consider a project from all angles, identify any unintended considerations and adapt accordinglyStrong ability to adjust to a challenging and variable work environment, multi-task, manage multiple ongoing requests, prioritize projects, and meet tight deadlinesOther assets include: French/Spanish/Mandarin proficiency, familiarity with public markets and finance
