From condominium and mixed-use developments to entertainment, educational and recreational facilities, and multi-million-dollar luxury homes, we have built our foundation on integrity and experience, earned a reputation for providing innovative and practical design solutions, and established our company as one of Canada’s most trusted structural engineering firms. Job SummaryWe are currently looking for an Intermediate/Senior Structural Drafting Technician on a full-time basis to prepare structural drawings using engineering designs and related technical information. Under the direction of the Drafting Manager, the ideal candidate will be thorough in ensuring they can deliver quality, accurate work on time while showing a solid understanding of buildable design solutions. Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare drawings relating to the structural engineering of buildingsAssist Engineers with the layout of structuresReview plans and specificationsCoordinate drawings with other consultantsPlot and issue drawings as required by the project teamDetermine special detailing or drafting requirements for a particular project Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesCompetent with Revit Structure and AutoCAD 2020Ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, and shop drawing setsHigh level of spatial intelligenceFamiliarity with structural materials, hardware, and processesDemonstrated written and verbal English communication skillsBasic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and administrative softwareExperience working with Revit Structure (an asset)Strong organizational and self-directed time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projectsStrong capacity to assess information and to draw sound conclusions that show judgement, intelligence and commonsenseThoroughness in completing tasks with attention to accuracyAbility to work in a team environment, working towards common goals and objectives Required Training & ExperienceDrafting Technician Certification or equivalent (in Canada)Minimum 5 years of Canadian experience in a structural drafting position BenefitsSalary will be determined based on experience, and a comprehensive benefits plan is available after three months of employment.
