Position Overview: Intermediate / Civil EngineerWe are in particular need of an Intermediate Civil Engineer with at least 8 years of experience in:•Civil engineering including the design of water, sanitary and storm, onsite wastewater systems, along with transportation, and lot development•Preparation and checking of engineering calculations•Development of sketches for distribution to drafting staff•Management of individual project files•Client liaison and business development•Authoring and/or review of engineering reports•Management and mentoring of junior engineering staff•Occasional site visitsThe successful candidate will be currently registered, or eligible to be registered, as a professional engineer (P. Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists of BC.Projects will be a blend of both civil (primarily) and structural (secondary) work such as: potable water supply, sanitary and storm drainage systems, and industrial and residential subdivisions.This position requires excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare clearly written correspondence, engineering reports and technical studies, and to communicate effectively face-to-face with clients. You will be expected to work independently, and delegate engineering and drafting assignments to members of our team. You will also be expected to provide mentorship to the other staff including junior engineers and technologist.This position offers the opportunity to work in a modern, well-equipped consulting engineering office, with occasional fieldwork and travel throughout central and northern British Columbia, as well as Alberta, Yukon, and Saskatchewan. However, for the right candidate, we are open to remote work with occasional travel and visits to our main office in Prince George.At Scouten Engineering, we work hard and play hard.
