What you would engage in: Our focus is on the application of critical thinking to the management of mine waste and water. The role ofIntermediate Geotechnical Engineercomes with the flexibility to work a hybrid work from home and work from the office schedule and will provide you with the opportunity to: Work on local and global mining projects. Design tailing storage facilities for local and global mining projects. Engage with clients, colleagues and suppliers on environmentally focused field programs and design solutions. Work with the latest versions of industry software. Provide mentorship to staff through the methodologies of tailings storage facility design solutions. Build client rapport through project development, from feasibility through to mine closure. Expand your knowledge by attending conferences and trainings. Be an ambassador for, and potentially become an owner of KCB. What we require: We respect the knowledge and experience you have gained to date and are willing to help you build on it. We do however require the following qualifications: A degree in civil engineering or geological engineering, with a track record of continued development. 5 to 10 years’experience in geotechnical engineering. You must be eligible to register as professional engineer in Canada. Experience in slope stability and seepage analysis; dam design; earthworks and construction; site investigation and laboratory testing of soils and rock. An ability to build relationships with multidisciplinary project-based teams. Experience in a safety focused environment with near miss and incident reporting requirements. In addition to the must-have requirements above, you will excel in the role if you have the following: Experience in tailings management and dam safety, including good knowledge of applicable standards and guidelines. Experience in seismic analysis of dams and related software packages. An ability to find creative solutions and know how to present them. An ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and industry partners.
