We’re looking for aIntermediate Frontend Software Developer to join our team in North America.

As a Intermediate Frontend Software Developer you will be supporting Lightspeed's Hospitality product group on the mission to create powerful insights and recommendations and curate actionable data to our customers, giving them the tools to better understand their own businesses in the unique markets in which they operate. You will join our global team of developers to use cutting edge technologies to help restaurant owners to provide the best experience to their guests. What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering features and enhancements to thousands of humans on a weekly cadence
  • Implementing proof of concept, prototypes and fully-tested production-grade software
  • Lead technical initiatives to keep our apps up-to-date on the latest technology
  • Collaborate with Design teams to realize the most delightful UX
  • Mentor other developers inside the team and participate in daily standups, bi-weekly grooming, and retrospective ceremonies
  • Assist QA and Support staff in troubleshooting and remediating issues
  • Translate product requirements into detailed plans and level of effort guidance

What you need to bring:

  • 4+ years experience developing and shipping production React and TypeScript applications, including techniques such as React Hooks, stateless components, stateful lifecycles methods, and React Query
  • A love of fostering your products throughout the SDLC and beyond, including customer usage analysis and stability monitoring techniques
  • Opinions about beautiful web application architectures, from clean routing schemes down to component loading patterns and pragmatic state management, through to rapid testing feedback loops
  • Familiarity with functional programming
  • Demonstrated experience creating unit and automated tests in tools such as Jest, Mocha, and Cypress
  • A strong degree of comfort operating within git and using GitHub workflows such as Pull Requests for enthusiastic code reviews
  • Experience with containerized development environments such as Docker and tools such as node and yarn
  • Excellent spoken and written English

  • Experience with data visualization libraries such as visx and nivo
  • Experience with fluid design principles
  • Experience with design systems
  • Experience with l10n
  • Experience with CI and CD systems
  • Experience with feature flagging patterns
  • A keen interest in API design
