Intermediate Engineer in the Civil, Geological, and Geotechnical AreasWe are hiring for the position of Intermediate Engineer in the Civil, Geological, and Geotechnical areas at our Vancouver, Canada office.Knight Piésold is a specialized global engineering consulting firm with over 100 years of industry experience. We offer unique opportunities to work on projects around the world.An ideal candidate for this position will have a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Geological or Civil Engineering. The applicant must be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with EGBC. A minimum of 5 years of experience related to mining, hydropower and/or infrastructure project development with a strong background in geotechnical analysis is required. The successful applicant will play a key role in a variety of mining and hydropower projects and must be able to work with multi-disciplinary teams. This position includes opportunities for domestic and international travel and will involve field assignments. Responsibilities may include the following:Planning and participating in geotechnical/hydrogeological site investigation programsCompleting geotechnical and/or civil engineering analyses and designCoordinating technical work within several disciplines and groupsProject management activitiesWriting technical reportsPreparing detailed proposals and schedulesMentoring and training junior and intermediate staffCurrent assignments that the successful candidate may be involved with include tailings dams, geotechnical support to operating underground and open pit mines, mine infrastructure, water retaining dams, pipelines, and hydropower facilities.We place an emphasis on developing practical solutions to meet our Client’s needs, and preference will be given to individuals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills in addition to strong technical competence.Knight Piésold is committed to employment equity and encourage all qualified applicants to apply by emailing a resume and cover letter to vancouver@knightpiesold.com .
