Were about doing whats right and feeling good about it.What You Will DoThe Claims Adjuster, Accident Benefits is responsible for oversight and handling of automobile, long haul trucking, motorcycle, and recreational vehicle Accident Benefits claims. The claims are of varying complexity and the successful candidate will have a dynamic personality and the ability to excel in a high performance environment. The Claims Adjuster, Accident Benefits ensures claims are properly investigated, evaluated, and resolved in a timely manner.Provide oversight of external adjusters on outsourced claimsInvestigate, evaluate, negotiate personal/commercial lines claims of moderate to high complexityManage challenging coverage claims with tact and professionalismTimely, accurate reserving in line with Corporate protocols and guidelinesMaintain control over expenses through pro-active handling techniquesObtain approval from Manager on claims above authorityManage claims in litigation, participate in mediations, pre-trials and settlement conferencesWho You ArePost-secondary education or equivalent experienceCIP or working towards designationMinimum of 3-5 years experience handling casualty claims requiredStrong organizational; decision making and problem solving skillsetAbility to understand insurance contracts in various jurisdictionsKnowledge of principles and practices of claims settlement, policy wording, fraud investigations and coverage issuesAbility to cross-reference information with attention to detailExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalWhat’s In It For YouCompetitive total compensation and benefits package Annual shared success program based on performanceAnnual merit increases based on performanceRegistered Retirement Savings Plan with a matching contribution componentComplimentary CAA MembershipPlease note: Internal applicants are asked to formally express their interest by applying online no later than 10 business days of position being posted.
