Overview

We are seeking an Intermediate Application/Software Architect for our governemnt client to play a pivotal role in supporting the NWS Information Technology (IT) Section, specifically focusing on the Maximo system application. IBM Maximo is a cutting-edge solution for seamlessly managing diverse physical assets on a unified platform. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to global operations, enhance real-time asset health monitoring, and optimize processes – all within a dynamic environment, either on-premises or in the cloud.

Mandatory Criteria

To Excel In This Role, You Must

  • Possess a degree or diploma in sciences, mathematics, or computer sciences from a recognized institution.
  • Hold a certificate of IBM certified deployment professional-Maximo asset management.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of five (5) years of experience within the last ten (10) years in IBM Maximo design and data migration/conversion.
  • Have three (3) or more months of IT-related experience in at least one of the following: SQL (Oracle database), Maximo configuration, Solution design, Workflow design, Automation scripting, Management Support, Preparing documentation, Troubleshooting, Business Intelligence & Reporting Tools (BIRT) reports, or Installations and upgrades.

Responsibilities

As an integral part of our team, you will:

  • Support the Technical Authority (TA) in overseeing integrated system testing for the NWS Information Management System (IMS).
  • Collaborate with the NWS Operation and Maintenance (O&M) contractor to review and provide feedback on developed solution architectures.
  • Provide recommendations to TA for implementing business requirements related to procurement, inventory, and work orders within the Maximo application.
  • Review detailed technical designs and prototypes, offering recommendations to ensure adherence to best business practices.
  • Oversee new instances or upgrades of Maximo, providing insights on managing multiple technical environments, development, and testing processes.
  • Leverage technical expertise to support data conversion and migration, system configuration, and interface construction with external systems.
  • Identify areas for customization and optimization, providing innovative solutions aligned with business requirements.
  • Support user requests by researching system problems or errors and actively contribute to their resolution.
  • Collaborate with the TA to evaluate extensions to Maximo business objects, class files, deployed web services, customizations, and configurations.
