Job Description

Individually we are people, but together we are Aviva. Individually these are just words, but together they are our Values – Care, Commitment, Community, and Confidence.

We are looking for an Integrated Planner to directly support the Change Delivery Lead in the provision of leadership accountabilities through the Transformation Management Office (TMO) into the Aviva Canada Change Portfolio Initiatives, which will impact the overall Aviva Canada Strategic Outcomes.

The selected candidate will be in a critical leadership support position, where best practice Governance, Assurance and Execution Discipline activities will directly support the optimum path to the successful delivery of the Change Portfolio.

Come join our team!

What you'll do:

Deliver the integrated plan for the Aviva Canada Change Portfolio

Outline the Governance of the planning activity and work with the Change Delivery Lead to establish process, artefacts, and cadence activities in order to integrate within the overall TMO Governance Model

Create clear alignment to the commitments made to the Boards and Committees in terms of outcomes, deliverables and objectives that support the Change Portfolio targets

Establish a clear and consistent tracking process – with appropriate processes, artefacts and cadence activities implemented – through interaction and collaboration with each Delivery Lead. This will include joining up on any slippage and potential impacts to outcomes and/or benefits

Articulate all levels of milestones clearly and consistently in terms of definitions and requirements in accordance with the Aviva Change Framework guidance:

Ensure any changes and/or improvements to the planning process, artefacts or cadence activities are correctly reflected as an update to the TMO Governance Model

Stress test and challenge the robustness and do-ability of all plans on an on-going basis. This will be built into the cadence activities

Understand and take action through the efficient monitoring and reporting of all dependencies, risks and issues that have the potential to affect the execution delivery of the integrated plan. This will include ensuring personal attendance and participation at the key Governance forums to enable early warning indicators to be highlighted.

Ensure all planning artefacts are always kept up to date – in the required format(s) – and any other planned or ad hoc requirements to support analysis and reporting

Set up and establish an on-going integrated planning session with all key partners at least every 90 days to review progress and plan the next phase

Build, develop and forge strong and mutually beneficial relationships with all key partners to optimize delivery, outcomes and ways of working

What you'll bring:

Experience of multi-Initiative delivery and able to build effective relationships with all collaborators.

Strong planning leadership abilities with the ability to drive and empower a team of project and product experts to achieve the desired strategic outcomes

Knowledge of working with Business and IT Partners, their platforms and their delivery methods

Excellent partner management and influencing in a sophisticated transformation arena

Ability to foresee and articulate risks, issues and dependencies and put in place appropriate mitigations both to programme delivery and business ‘outcome’ risks, recognising where critical issue is required

Ability to disseminate sometimes fragmented or contrary information and data to get to the root of the issue and use appropriate strategies to tackle problems and/or clear blockers

Ability to challenge the norm, seek out opportunities to improve and drive effective delivery in a balanced risk management approach

Ability to handle both complexity and volume of demand

Understanding of the Canada business areas and marketplace

Resilient to challenge at the most senior level whilst building and managing relationships

Appropriate professional and Higher Education qualifications

What you'll get:

Compelling rewards package including base compensation, eligibility for annual bonus, retirement savings, share plan, health benefits, personal wellness, and volunteer opportunities.

Competitive vacation package with the option to purchase 5 extra days off per year

Employee driven programs focused on gender, LGBTQ+, origins, diversity and inclusion

Corporate wellness programs to support our employees’ physical and mental health

Hybrid flexible work model
