Job Description

CPA Ontario is seeking a skilledInstructional Designerto enrich our digital learning experiences. In this role, you will collaborate with subject matter experts to develop compelling e-learning content, assist with video production, and ensure the highest quality instructional materials. We are looking for a candidate with a robust background in instructional design, proficiency in e-learning tools, and experience in creating engaging and accessible content.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Collaborating and Gathering Content:Working with the CPA Ontario product development officer, subject matter experts, and instructors to define learning objectives and gathering essential content for instructional design projects.
• Guiding and Supporting Training:Providing expert guidance to trainers and facilitators on instructional design strategies, delivery methods, and best practices to ensure effective and engaging training experiences.
• Designing and Developing E-Learning Materials:Creating compelling storyboards, e-learning modules, assessments, and e-learning widgets using dominKnow authoring tools, and uploading the final products to the Blackboard learning management system.
• Producing and Editing Videos:Coaching and directing instructors and subject matter experts during video shoots using platforms such as Riverside, Vimeo, and Camtasia. Adding branded content and editing videos to meet e-learning and promotional material specifications.
• Ensuring Quality and Accessibility:Conducting thorough quality assurance reviews of instructional materials to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and adherence to instructional design and AODA standards and guidelines.

Who You Are:

• Equipped with a post-secondary degree, diploma, or equivalent in educational technology, ideally a bachelor's degree in instructional design or deep practical experience recognized certifications in e-learning development and instructional design.
• Experienced Professional with 2-5 years of expertise in instructional design and training development, ideally within a corporate environment.
• Tech-Savvy Designer that is proficient in e-learning authoring tools like dominKnow or Articulate RISE, familiar with LMS platforms such as Blackboard, and skilled in Microsoft Office.
• An Effective written and verbal communicator, capable of articulating complex concepts clearly and concisely, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Innovative Problem Solver with a strong grasp of instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and learning theories, with added skills in graphic design and video editing being a plus.
