Myles Ahead is a registered national charity dedicated to improving mental health support for children and youth. Our goal is to bridge system-level gaps and scale evidence-based practices to help ensure timely access to appropriate mental health services, both clinically and in schools.

Ultimately, our purpose is to transform systems to help prevent child and youth suicide. Aligned with this purpose, Myles Ahead develops initiatives that focus on three key areas, collaborating in partnership with young people, carers, sector experts, and communities:

1. Mental Health Systems: Enhance and integrate mental health services for children and youth.
2. Education Systems: Implement mental health initiatives within schools to support students.
3. Life Promotion: In support of overall well-being, develop and promote strategies to prevent child and youth suicide.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile Innovation & Development Coordinator to join our team. In addition to having adept interpersonal skills, the ideal candidate will be creative, have an analytical background, a passion for research and design, as well as the ability to coordinate and manage fundraising events. This role will play a key part in driving innovation, supporting the development of Myles Ahead’s initiatives, and organizing events that align with our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to support the development of new initiatives, which may include grant writing and annual report preparation, in collaboration with leadership.
- Gather and interpret data from various sources, including market trends and community feedback.
- Develop and maintain databases to track research activities, results, and trends.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to diverse audiences.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and leading practices to inform development initiatives.
- Plan, coordinate, and launch fundraising events, such as Run Myles Ahead.
- Coordinate with vendors and participants to help ensure successful events.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of R&D activities and events, suggesting improvements as needed.
- Occasionally support the Executive Director to prepare for Board Meetings, in addition to attending and taking notes.
- Design marketing materials and promotional content for events and initiatives, in collaboration with leadership.
- Manage social media accounts and create engaging content to increase awareness and engagement, in collaboration with leadership.
- Analyze social media metrics and provide insights to optimize content performance.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Non-profit Management, Marketing, Communications, Events Management).
- Proven and/or transferrable experience in innovation, research, development, data analysis, event planning/coordination, graphic design, and social media management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the child and youth mental health sector is preferred.
