How you will make an impact Maintains a clean, safe, professional care environment for patients and staff. Promotes service excellence by example in following protocols and procedures and encouraging continuing education amongst staff. Complete all applicable Trakstar and other required training for each medication prior to the administration of such medication to patients. Contacts new patients and schedules appointments in a timely fashion as needed and requested by CRC. Supports staff/clinic schedule requirements: Ensures clinic nurses are entering availability into clinic calendar;Ensures staff coverage (availability, vacation, illness, etc.) meets patient needs and notifies Assistant Director immediately of any issues or potential issues and gaps;Books nurses for work via the ‘Book for work’ feature in the Intranet (Tools/Nurse Schedule).Liaises with on and off-site medical support (physicians and Nurse Practitioners) as needed and promotes a healthy professional relationship. Ensures adequate clinic supplies, stock rotation and monitoring of expiry dates on perishable products (Remipacks, saline, stock medications, refreshments, etc.). Maintains and coordinates clinic drug supply and ensures drug stock accountability through careful record keeping (medication logs) and reviews discrepancies or potential process issues with BioScript and Assistant Director. Ensures adherence to clinic policies (cold chain management, medication storage, mixing and infusion protocols, patient care, and clinical procedures, reporting Adverse Events as per individual program and the Adverse Event Reporting Policy [Coverdale General Adverse Event Reporting Policy] and others). Reports any issues or anticipated issues that require attention (patient comfort/safety, staffing, physician coverage, supply/shipping, equipment problems, etc.) to their Assistant Director as soon as possible. Ensures staff maintain current patient profile contact information, consent/release/waiver forms, etc. and keeps CRC/BAC/RSN/Patient care programs apprised of any changes. Ensures all staff maintain and review/update their annual proof of nursing licence, BCLS, contact information and keep on file at the clinic. Regularly follows up on clinic emails and ensures clinic staff check inbox regularly during their shift. Disseminates communications from CRC and the management team to clinic team. Ensures documentation used in the clinic is the most current versions (always pull from Intranet when reprinting from stock). Verifies all clinic logs (O2, refrigerator, medication, AE and others) are being completed properly by clinic staff. Performs regular informal self-audits of the clinic including verifying patient files to meet SOP requirements; stock has not expired/verify rotation, that nurses are following clinic procedures and protocols properly, etc. Supervises and coordinates the training and mentoring of all clinic staff, both new and existing staff. Utilizes the Clinic Staff Onboarding Assessment Tool to guide new nurse orientation and training. Completes additional reporting as requested by the Coverdale Management Team or CRC. Participates in regular Internal Audits with the Audit Resource Team and works with the management team to resolve any issues. Participates in preparation for external audits as needed. Monitors and performs case management of all clinic patients as required. Manages the performance of all direct reports (clinic staff), including assessing and addressing performance in the workplace. The Clinical Leader is responsible for engaging in the continual process of monitoring, observing, and communicating with their team to provide them with constructive feedback, including the documentation of all performance related conversations. This may include formal performance evaluations as requested by the management team. Leads by example by positively influencing others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the clinic and the organization as a whole. Responsible to report any patient safety information as per adverse event reporting requirements; and Other duties as required. What youll bring to our team Qualified Registered Nurse (valid provincial license) Healthcare provider CPR certificate required Minimum 3 years’ experience as a nurse 1 year of regular IV initiation and infusion experience Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook (Email), and Word Excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, physicians, and our clients Strong written and verbal communication skills Able to work autonomously with little supervision as part of a larger remote team Willing to travel to alternate clinics within a set geographical boundary Strong analytical and mathematical skills – for calculating patient dosages Effective interpersonal and leadership skills Effective organizational skills; attention to detail Ability to consistently meet deadlines Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently ACLS, CVAA Certification, and central venous lines/port experience are considered assets Experience in a critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare setting would be considered an asset Flexibility in order to provide services for pre-scheduled and occasional last minute patient appointment requests would be considered an asset.
