Job Description

The Information Technology Division of the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement (SBP) is looking for an Infrastructure Consultant to join Information Security Branch (ISB). The position will be located at a Government of Saskatchewan office in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. The intended start date for the role is as soon as possible after a selection has been made.

The Information Security Branch (ISB) within the Information Technology Division (ITD) of the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement (SBP) is responsible for managing all things related to IT security including, though not necessarily limited to:

Providing interpretation and enforcement of the information security policy and standards;

Providing information security education and awareness;

Responding to information security Incidents;

Performing Threat Risk Assessments (TRA) for IT-related business initiatives throughout Government;

Providing security assessment and overall security requirements oversight for IT-related Solution and Services Procurements; and

Providing information security advice and guidance for business areas;

Evaluating new threats and vulnerabilities.

The Infrastructure Consultant will provide services leading to reduced security risk in Government’s critical information systems as environments are redesigned and as progress is made towards renewing them. Duties of the Infrastructure Consultant will include, but are not necessarily limited to:

Leading from an Information Security perspective, the upgrade and renewal of Government’s critical information environments;

Redesigning the GOS-wide wireless network;

Participating in a redesign of Community Net;

Participating in the redesign of the DMZ;

The retirement of legacy environments; and

Other Information Security and Infrastructure Architecture initiatives as assigned by the Information Security Branch.

Generating local community benefits and economic activities are considered objectives of this competition and the proponent’s ability to offer these benefits will be assessed in this competitive process. Specifically, GOS is looking for local participation in this competition; proponents are required to clearly describe how they will be committed to addressing and maximizing local employment opportunities for Saskatchewan residents, supporting Saskatchewan industry, and generating economic development, including but not limited to percentage of Saskatchewan resources to be involved in this Project, and engaging local partners and sub-contractor companies if applicable.

The resource will be required to participate in consultant performance evaluation as deemed appropriate by the Ministry.

Familiarity with the Government of Saskatchewan, or comparable entity, technical and business landscape is considered an asset.
