Reporting to the Manager, IT Operations, in this unionized position you will provide computer infrastructure support services to the organization, develop non-standard configurations for new or updated software, and perform preventive maintenance on the network and server infrastructure. The Infrastructure Analyst provides a variety of business application and network support services for client departments.ResponsibilitiesInstall and upgrade server hardware and softwarePerform preventive maintenance on server infrastructure, including patchingInvestigate, assess and resolve hardware and software issuesHandle more complex user problems referred by help desk staffPerforms systems maintenance, back-up and recovery operationsMonitor server logs to identify problemsDevelop and maintain small applications related to system administrationConfigure and maintain non-standard operating systems and specialty serversProvide advice, information, and assistance to employees on network applicationsPrepare and maintain documentation, reports, and statistics related to the workPerform related work as requiredQualificationsCompletion of a two year diploma program in computer technology at an institute of technology or community college plus sound related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experienceConsiderable knowledge of the methods, principles, practices and capabilities of computer and network hardware, software, and operating systemsAbility to install, test and upgrade hardware and softwareAbility to investigate, assess and resolve network hardware, software and communications issuesAbility to establish and maintain effective communication with internal and external contactsWorking knowledge and hands on experience with one or more of the following technologies is considered an asset: Microsoft O/S (Server/Hyper-V, Win10/11), Microsoft System Center (SCOM, SCORCH, DPM), Microsoft 365 (O365, Exchange, OneDrive, Intune, Teams), AD and Azure AD (Entra ID), Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, VMWare vSphere, NetApp Ontap, Commvault/Veeam, SolarWinds, Mitel/ShoreTelKnowledge and experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Cisco Wired and Wireless Technologies is desirableCertifications in Microsoft, CompTIA, VMWare and/or formal training in any of the above technologies is desirable.
