Job Description
Are you ready to make an impact in IT asset management? My client is seeking a dynamic IT Asset Manager to lead the management and optimization of technology assets, ensuring they deliver maximum value while minimizing risk throughout their lifecycle. This includes overseeing the entire technology lifecycle from selection and operation to refresh, migration, optimization, and disposal.
Key Accountabilities:
- Budget Management: Oversee the budget for ITAM tools, services, and staffing (permanent and temporary).
- Talent Management: Manage a diverse team including permanent staff, contractors, temporary staff, and trainees.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor spending on technology assets including hardware, software, cloud services, support, maintenance, and disposal.
- Operational Management: Ensure resources and processes are in place to gather and analyze data on technology asset lifecycles. Advocate for ITAM value, develop and promote effective strategies and practices, and report on policy breaches and remediation actions.
- Data and Analysis: Provide finance with data to support budget analysis and business cases, assign responsibilities for software and hardware asset management, ensure proper evaluation and maintenance of ITAM tools, and manage software vendor license compliance audits.
- Team Leadership: Manage the core IT asset management team, including staffing, budgeting, and holding stakeholders accountable for optimizing digital technology assets.
Critical Relationship Management:
- Collaborate with business unit managers, project management resources, risk management, audit and compliance teams, the CISO, sourcing and procurement teams, vendor management, CSR, enterprise asset management, and digital technology budget holders.
Managerial/Technical Leadership Responsibility:
- Reports directly to the Senior Director of Managed Services & Infrastructure.
- Oversee a team of 3-5 individuals.
Education, Qualifications, and Certifications:
- A university degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7-10 years of experience in IT, enterprise asset management, or information management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience building cross-organizational consensus and managing high-performing teams.
- Experience in liaising with middle and senior management.
Experience and Skills:
- Proven management skills including engagement with sourcing, procurement, vendor management, business stakeholders, and operational IT staff.
- Hands-on experience in ITAM roles (hardware or software) and improving business outcomes.
- Experience in developing business requirements for digital technology tools, creating business cases, and leading system/tool implementations.
- Experience managing IT service providers and handling the risk and cost implications of IT contracts.
- Proficient in information gathering, analysis, management reporting, and using ITAM tools like ServiceNow.
