The Technology and Innovation (T&I) Ministry supports Government of Alberta (GoA) departments with information management and technology (IMT) leadership and expertise in IMT services delivery, security, and corporate investment management that enable the GoA to meet business goals and objectives.
The T&I Ministry uses a one-government approach to IMT governance, decision-making and service delivery across the Government of Alberta (GoA) balanced with individual client needs. The Enterprise Content Management (ECM) branch provides cost effective and responsive information management services across the Government of Alberta, with a goal to introduce common and consistent ways of classification, organization and access to information.

Reporting to the Team Lead, File Management and System Support, the IM Analyst is a member of a professional team that works closely with a variety of clients/stakeholders to develop various strategies and processes while troubleshooting and mitigating risks with a focus on enhancing file management services, compliance and assisting in the transition from paper records to electronic information management.
The IM Analyst ensures the delivery of quality information management services and products by providing strategic support, guidance and expertise to enhance the strategic value of department records and information while minimizing risks and improving information management practices. Ensures project alignment with corporate priorities by building relationships with business partners, and participating in the design, planning and implementation of ECM solutions. Perform comprehensive work process analysis to understand the unique retention and record compliance requirements; drafting policies, procedures and guidelines.
In addition, the IM Analyst provides consultation and coaching support to Department staff and contractors/secondments. Including training; implementation and enhancement of Information Management (IM) and ECM solutions; digitization products and services; and records disposition instructions to ensure effective and efficient delivery of information management services.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A related two-year diploma (e.g., Public Administration, Business, Information Management), supplemented by at least one (1) year of related experience with information and/or records management
  • Experience with records retention and disposition schedules, records databases, and Microsoft Office software programs, including project management
  • Must be able to lift boxes weighing approximately 30 lbs


Assets:

  • Experience with work process analysis
  • CAPM – Certified Associate in Project Management


Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

This position is a permanent, full-time role with the standard weekly work hours of 36.25, Monday to Friday (8:15 am – 4:30 pm).
Location: North Petroleum Plaza, 9945 - 108 St NW, Edmonton, AB
- The successful candidate must be able to work at the office in-person
Traveling will consist of less than 25% of the work schedule.
Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary.
