Job Description

Our client, a global automotive parts distributor is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join their team in Markham. The Human Resources Manager will influence high-level management decisions to ensure the company remains strategically competitive in policies, procedures, programs, and best practices. This role involves providing leadership and direction to the HR team and coaching the management team on all human resources and administrative matters.

Location: Markham.

Job Type: Full time permanent.

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 + bonus

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation and company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Prepare and monitor the annual HR budget, reporting on variance analysis.
  • Develop career development, succession plans, and employee retention initiatives.
  • Implement and monitor a comprehensive HRIS for corporate decision-making processes.
  • Advise and coach the management team on policies, programs, and best practices.
  • Maintain the company's compensation evaluation system, recommending salary range changes based on market and economic conditions.
  • Oversee personnel management, including wage increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Determine staffing requirements and oversee the recruitment process.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Monitor payroll activities and ensure compliance with financial, legal, and administrative requirements.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by developing and enforcing company health and safety standards.
  • Oversee facility standards and fulfillment needs and requests.
  • Develop employee training to meet compliance requirements.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and resolve conflicts.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Create and maintain security policies and procedures in collaboration with the IT team.
  • Manage security subcontractors, vendors, and agency employees.
  • Manage the vehicle program, reporting on variance analysis.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing environment or related.
  • 5+ years of HR management experience.
  • 5+ years of health and safety experience.
  • Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Dayforce HRIS is an asset.
  • CHRL designation is an asset.
  • Knowledge of relevant employment legislation.
  • Proven experience in coaching and developing employees and managers.
  • Ability to interact compassionately, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
