The Municipal District of Lesser Slave River is seeking a full-time, permanent Human Resource Manager, this position works out of the main office in Slave Lake.

The Human Resource Manager provides effective leadership and mentorship with both employees and management personnel. Oversee strategic plans and development of Human Resource functions and the daily operations of all HR systems to streamline HR processes and data management. Provide employees and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with the necessary tools and resources to support the Municipalities’ HR programs and initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:

· Lead Human Resource (HR) programs, services, and strategies.

· Coordinate all initiatives within the HR department including but not limited to recruitment strategies, internal communications, performance management, recognition program, training, skills development, municipal structure, and staffing levels.

· Work collaboratively with the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Administration in identifying workforce trends and metrics and providing recommendations on HR matters including programs.

· Communicate and administer company benefits and compensation plans.

· Provide employee performance and career management advice.

· Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success.

· Excellent planning, organization, problem solving, communication and administration abilities.

· Provide support and mentorship of the Occupational Health and Safety program for the organization.

· Shall perform duties of Municipal Emergency Management Services as delegated.

· Act in the absence of the Payroll Administrator Officer performing the duties as assigned.

· Perform all other duties as delegated by the CAO and/or designate.

Qualifications:

· Human Resources Certification – required

· Municipal Governance Certificate or training – required.

· Good written and oral communication skills -required

· Advanced level leadership development training – asset

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Outlook) -required

· Valid Class 5 Drivers License -required

· Ability to work effectively in a government setting with a focus on customer service, tact, and professionalism.

Salary Range: $48.12 - $63.33 /hour, dependent on education/experience.
