Reporting to the CFO, you'll support a wide range of employees, from front-line staff to executives, ensuring that our HR practices are both effective and aligned with health and safety standards. What we are offering you Compensation & Benefits $90,000-$100,000 per annum, based on experience Competitive bonus plan Comprehensive health and dental benefits, 100% premiums paid by the company 3 weeks of paid vacation time off, annually 10 days paid holidays, annually 8 days paid sick/personal days, annually What you’ll be doing Leading HR Functions: Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding of new employees. Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws. Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Develop and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Administer health benefits programs, including enrollment, claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefits information to employees. Handle the new employee onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition and positive experience for new hires. Maintain a strong working relationship with the Union, ensuring business practices are reflective of terms per the Collective Agreement. Promoting Health & Safety: Develop and maintain health and safety programs for both manufacturing and office environments. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Coordinate safety training programs and initiatives, fostering a culture of safety across the organization. Investigate and document workplace incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed. Manage WSIB claims and return to work processes. Liaise with WSIB adjudicators. Employee Engagement & Development: Support employee engagement initiatives, promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Coordinate training and development programs, assisting employees in their professional growth. Facilitate performance management processes, providing guidance to managers and employees. Internal Process Optimization: Actively engage in streamlining HR workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement and advocate for best HR practices tailored to the unique needs of a manufacturing environment. Continuously seek innovative solutions to improve HR processes and employee satisfaction. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and cross-departmental collaboration. Comprehensive Stakeholder Communication: Ensure clear and consistent communication with all internal stakeholders, fostering an environment of open dialogue and collaboration. Approach employee interactions with a professional and calm demeanour, always looking to provide solutions. Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making processes across various departments. Desired Experience & Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an HR Manager/Generalist, with a focus on supporting manufacturing environments. Experience working with unions. Experience working with relevant employment legislation specific to Ontario (i.e. the Employment Standards Act, the Human Rights Code, the Employment Equity Act, the Pay Equity Act, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act) Degree in Human Resources. CHRP or CHRL designation is preferred or in progress. Working knowledge of health and safety practices in both manufacturing and office environments. Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams. Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability to manage the complexities of HR in a manufacturing setting. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, maintaining organized records and tracking tools. Proficient knowledge using HRIS and Microsoft Office applications. Encompass an owner’s entrepreneurial mindset. Eagerness to learn about the prefabricated/modular industry and to play an active role in the development of the HR department and company as a whole. Health & Safety certification would be considered an asset.
