Opportunity!
Our partner is looking for an empowering HR Generalist to provide support and work closely on a daily basis with manufacturing operations. They will take ownership of the HR function within the unionized facility. You will also sit on the Joint Health & Safety Committee and provide any HR support needed including WSIB management and other people-related activities that impact employees in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and Selection as well as Onboarding.
- Training & Development.
- Talent Management & Succession Planning.
- Dismissals & Terminations.
- Benefits, Payroll & Pension.
- Labour Relations (including grievances & corrective discipline).
- Sit in on Collective Bargaining & Contract Negotiations.
- Liaise w/ union leadership.
- Employee Engagement & Team Functions/Activities.
Qualifications:
- University degree in HR or related field.
- CHRP or CHRL designation completed or in progress.
- Experience w/ ADP & or SAP an asset.
- At least 3 years of progressive human resources experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
- H&S certification is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience with labour relations matters such as grievances, investigations, and administration of CBA.
- Strong application and understanding of Human Resources legislation including the Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, as well as Occupational Health and Safety Act.
This is a stand alone HR position overseeing 150-200 total employees.
