Position: Human Resources Generalist / Assistant (Part-time)
Location: Ottawa, downtown (one day in the office, 21 hours per week)
Salary: Hourly rate of $30.76 to $41.02 based upon experience, plus benefits, vacation, free parking

A National Association is seeking a part-time HR Generalist/Assistant to provide guidance and support all HR functions. The position reports to the Chief Financial Office and may lead to full-time in 3-4 years.

Responsibilities include:

- Policy Development and Implementation: Write and update company policies to ensure compliance with legal standards and alignment with company culture and values.
- Performance: Facilitate the performance evaluation process including scheduling and tracking completion.
- Talent Acquisition: Support hiring managers, write up job descriptions and manage the recruitment process.
- Audit and System Improvements: Conduct regular audits and processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Employee Relations: Point of contact for employees regarding any concern(s); ensure confidentiality and addressed in timely and fair manner.
- Onboarding/Offboarding: Coordinate the onboarding process to ensure smooth transition and a positive experience; facilitate the exit interview and necessary steps following.
- Office Equipment: Arrange, organize office equipment for new and existing employees as required.
- Team Events: Play a key role in the planning and coordinating of employee team building events.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Human Resource, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven 5 years experience as an HR Generalist OR HR Assistant.
- Strong understanding of HR principles and practices, CHRP is an asset.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking skills, attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, demonstrating professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency using an HR software and systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment.
