Job Description
My client, a Canadian mining company is looking for an AVP of HR to contribute to the overhaul of the current HR function, identifying which processes are working and what needs to be changed.
The Job
- Work with leadership to define the organization’s long term goals
- Maintain knowledge of legislation and regulations, and best practices in employment law
- Assist with resolution of HR concerns
- Identify KPI's for the HR and Talent team and assesses the organization’s employee retention and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
- Provide coaching to managers on carrying out performance reviews and providing feedback to their teams
- Ensure compensation and benefits are competetive and to a market standard
- Ensure compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety regulations and requirements.
The Person
- Completion of a University degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field
- CHRP or CHRL designation is preferred
- 10-15 years’ experience in HR in a professional service environment
