Job Description

The Opportunity:

Our client, a Private Equity backed consolidator of Healthcare clinics across the country is searching for a Director of Human Resources to join their team in Mississauga, ON. The ideal candidate will play a key role as part of the organization’s Leadership Team, and be responsible for leading organizational development to support the growth of both staff and the organization. This role requires a hands-on approach, and demonstrable expertise in the areas of HR management, employee engagement and recruitment in a multi-unit, customer facing, service driven environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Develops and implements comprehensive policies and guidelines that align with the organization’s strategic short-term and long-term goals, ensuring robust support for sustainable growth and operational excellence.
  • Oversees and manages the entire spectrum of HR functions across the organization, including but not limited to compensation, benefits administration, employee training and development, talent acquisition and management, as well as occupational health and safety programs.
  • Supervises a diverse portfolio encompassing Organizational Development and Payroll operations, ensuring seamless integration and effective management of these critical functions.
  • Provides expert HR counseling and guidance to all organizational levels, serving as the go-to authority on a wide array of employment matters including legal compliance, health and safety standards, and compensation strategies.
  • Offers specialized expertise and strategic advice on employee discipline, suspension, and termination processes, ensuring these actions are carried out fairly, legally, and consistently.
  • Maintains a keen awareness of emerging workplace trends, industry best practices, and significant issues impacting service delivery, and proactively advises senior management on adaptive strategies.
  • Directs, monitors, and evaluates the performance and activities of direct reports, providing mentorship and skill enhancement opportunities to foster proactive problem-solving and effective project leadership among team members.
  • Exercises prudent financial judgment, ensuring that HR initiatives and decisions are economically sound and align with the organization's budgetary constraints.
  • Performs other related duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the organization.

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • A degree in Human Resources Management or any related fields and/or the equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Experienced in a growing organization, with proven success establishing best practises and strategies to support company growth
  • At least seven years of progressive and direct management experience in Human Resources Management within a large, multi-site, workplace
  • Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation is an asset
  • Extensive knowledge of human resources theories and practices as well as applicable federal and provincial laws and regulations
  • Strong planning, time-management, leadership and organizational skills to manage multiple HR functions and anticipate obstacles to effective HR service delivery
  • Orientation to excellence that acknowledges and builds on the strengths of all stakeholders, including colleagues, staff and client population
  • Excellent interpersonal, influence and communication (verbal, written, facilitation and presentation) skills
