Human Resources CoordinatorOur client, a Canadian Mining Company is currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Coordinator to work on site at their mine site northwest of Sudbury. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the HR Coordinator will support all human resource department functions including full-cycle recruitment, maintaining employee records, providing administration and support in HR projects and initiatives, and maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of the role.This position is located northwest of Sudbury at a “dry” mine site on a schedule of 12-hour days, on a 7 days on, 7 days off rotation with meals and accommodations provided at the camp. Some travel to Sault Ste. Marie may be required.ResponsibilitiesFunction as primary Human Resources contact for employees and management at mine site on HR issues.Respond to internal and external Human Resources related inquiries or requests.Assisting with recruitment activities, onboarding, offboarding employees and exit interviews.Support the recruitment process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, assisting in shortlisting, and issuing employment contracts.Attend job fairs and employee interaction within different communities.Provide support with documentation, filing and organization of HR department paperwork and online repositories.Educate and help enforce all company policies, procedures, and processes.Assist in aspects of HR programs such as: performance management, compensation, benefits, Health and Safety Management; and Drug and Alcohol policies.Regularly participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings.Consult with other departments or functions (nurses, payroll, benefits etc.).Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events, coordinate training sessions, seminars and maintain the team’s agenda and assist with company events and onsite company activities.Qualifications:Diploma or degree in Human Resources with a minimum 2 years of relevant experienceGeneral knowledge of applicable employment laws and practices.Advanced MS Office skills.Strong oral and written communication skills and a willingness to learn a broad spectrum of tasks.Sound analytical, critical thinking skills, and conscientiousness.Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines in an organized fashion.Industry experience in mining, forestry, or construction preferred.
