The Role of the HR Consultancy Services Manager

Job Purpose: To lead and manage the HR documentation consultancy teams.

Job Overview: As the Manager, you will oversee a team of professional, client-focused HR professionals who cater to our rapidly growing client base. You will manage performance, provide regular activity reports, track performance metrics, and lead and coach the team of consultants.

Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage both the HR Documentation Consultants, and Employment Development Consultants (EDC) teams.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports to the Vice President of Employment Services and other stakeholders.
  • Lead training and coaching sessions.
  • Arrange and lead bi-weekly team meetings.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints and negative service reviews relating to the HR Consultancy teams.
  • Attend scheduled conference calls with counterparts across the Group.
  • Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with team members to manage performance issues and expectations.
  • Conduct semi-annual performance reviews for the team.
  • Complete HR Consultancy objectives every quarter or as required.
  • Interview, select, and onboard new HR Consultancy Team members.
  • Liaise with the legal department to stay updated on changing employment legislation in the provinces we serve; update documentation as required.
  • Oversee and lead the development of new programs or software platforms within the HR Consultancy Team.
  • Ensure maintenance of the documentation library in DocBuilder.
  • Manage workload per Peninsula’s policies and procedures to meet expectations.
  • Ensure consistent achievement of the HR Consultancy Team’s deadlines and targets.
  • Note: This is not an exhaustive list of duties. Additional tasks may be assigned to accommodate the evolving role and business objectives.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • HR certification (e.g., CHRP, CHRL)
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in HR, with at least three years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM - hours vary based on business needs.
  • In-office based position in Toronto.
